Some citizens have flatly refused to board an aircraft after that frightful day in September while others live in constant fear every time they leave their homes. These are unnatural feelings and should not be controlling factors in ones life. Click here

Are you a doer or a talker
November 6, 2010 - "Are you a doer or a talker?" By Joseph Parish. Frequently you find survivalists who considered themselves experts in the field and believe there is nothing left for them to learn or understand. I can say but one thing for these people – they are fools. I know a lot about surviving; in fact I am currently going back to college for a degree in Emergency Management. When I sit down and think about it however I still consider myself as an amateur. Click here

Gotta Have Water
November 4, 2010 - "Gotta Have Water" By Joseph Parish. Well it finally happened. Mother Nature was feed up with all the abuse and nonsense that mankind had befallen her and simply decided to fight back. It seemed like the end of our world and way of living was coming and rather quickly at that. First, we experienced several back to back hurricanes heading up the east coast hitting major cities all the way up. Click here
Survival Requirements of Sheltering
November 4, 2010 - "Survival Requirements of Sheltering" By Joseph Parish. By now everyone must appreciate the value associated with having emergency supplies readily at hand during a major crisis. The situations that developed during the Katrina disaster should only serve to reinforce our goals to be able to take care of ourselves during a national or local emergency. The government responses were sluggish and in many cases ineffective. In this article I will briefly review the requirements for establishing an adequate shelter plan. Click here

If you have been reading the news lately you will know that earthquakes are no longer a phenomenon that happens strictly on the west coast. California no longer has a monopoly on the earth movers that have traditionally caused so much damage to cities in the western portion of the nation. It was this year that Washington DC experienced a sizable shake of their own. Click here

Water for Survival
November 2, 2010 - "Water for Survival" By Joseph Parish. Let’s briefly discuss the topic of food storage in retreats or at your home station. Most survivalists have plenty of food and water readily available in the event of a disaster or major disruption of the normal social order. According to what your survival plans are you may have more food at your home then at the retreat or visa versa. Click here
What is the Key to Survival
November 2, 2010 - "What is the Key to Survival?" By Joseph Parish. Have you ever sat and deliberated how two individuals could be in a similar emergency setting and only one of them will survive even though they may have the same basic survival knowledge? The key has to boil down to the person’s individual mindset and not specifically on knowledge. Such was the case with the Georgia hiker who was lost and missing for several days. Click here
GPS or Maps
November 2, 2010 - "GPS or Maps?" By Joseph Parish. Let’s be realistic for a moment, I would not trade my “Tom Tom” for anything, in fact I don’t know how I ever got along without it. No longer do I get lost and have to wonder how I will ever get back on the right track again. The GPS merely checks my location with the satellite and like magic I hear a voice say, “In one half mile turn right.” Nothing could be more comforting when traveling. Click here

Can Ancient Egyptian Medicine Help Survivalists
October 31, 2010 - "Can Ancient Egyptian Medicine Help Survivalists" By Joseph Parish. As any of my friends and family knows I am an avid fan of ancient Egypt, in fact at one point as a young man I came very close to becoming an archeologist. The ancient Egyptian civilization was extremely advanced in the amount of knowledge they possessed concerning the human body. They become experts on the internal functions of the body by way of their mummification process. They fully understood most of the bodies internal organs since nowhere in their religious beliefs was it forbidden to open and examine a dead body. This allowed them the opportunity to completely study the various systems that made up the human cadaver. Click here
Survival Toothpaste
October 31, 2010 - "Survival Toothpaste" By Joseph Parish. Dental hygiene is vital whether we are functioning as a normal business as usual society or one where turmoil and crisis peers its head from around every corner. The likely result of avoiding proper tooth care is the associated pain from a damaged or diseased tooth. No one wants that to happen especially during a period of time when dental professionals may not be readily available. Click here
