December 25, 2010 - "Let’s Can Some Homemade Sausage" By Joseph Parish. Think back for a moment to your days as a child growing up on the family farm. Everything you ate seemed to be the freshest of foods from the vegetables that were placed on your plate to the meats that you cooked on the grill. It is hard these days to duplicate those same flavors in the foods we get from today’s supermarkets. click here

The Personal RV Bug out Bus
December 24, 2010 - "The Personal RV Bug out Bus" By Joseph Parish. We have some friends who own and operate school buses and with the current high operating cost she has seriously considered stopping her bus service. As she mentioned this to me I recalled someone who had recently brought to my attention that perhaps a bus would be a much better BOV then most vehicles. The logic presented in converting an older school bus for this essential purpose is as follows. Click here
On Winning the Guerrilla Warfare
December 24, 2010 - "On Winning the Guerrilla Warfare" By Joseph Parish. A lot of the information contained in this article originated from a friend of mine in South America who attended a CIA sponsored class in Guerrilla Warfare. It is no secret that guerrilla warfare is essentially a battle of politics. Click here

Critical needs for our Food Supply
December 23, 2010 - "Critical needs for our Food Supply" By Joseph Parish. Let’s think for a moment just how fragile our food supply logistics really is. We have our local grocery stores which usually receive their stock from a master chain distributor. Generally the grocery store does not stock more then a week’s supply of food at any one time. Usually that amount is reduced to 72 hours worth of food being on the shelves at any moment. They frequently will re-stock their shelves as the supplies arrive meaning they have no spare cases in the back waiting to be put on the shelves. Click here

Get Ready Now
December 22, 2010 - "Get Ready Now" By Joseph Parish. For several years now I have stressed how important it is for us to store up food for upcoming emergencies. Although it might at first appear that we are unable to prepare for each and every emergency situation we must at least try to be prepared. Click here

Intestinal Parasites in the Wild
December 21, 2010 - "Intestinal Parasites in the Wild" By Joseph Parish. When living in the wild the possibilities of acquiring some sort of intestinal parasite is high. It seems that regardless of how clean you try to be the creatures attack and invade our bodies with a vengeance. Click here

Mutual Aid between Retreats
December 20, 2010 - "Mutual Aid between Retreats" By Joseph Parish. In the emergency response business it is common knowledge that cities will request assistance from their neighbors when confronted by a local disaster or crisis. If their needs are beyond their immediate capabilities they contact the neighbors and ask for assistance whether it is to borrow equipment or for supplies. Such actions make very good sense however as with any actions relating to emergency management this must also be planned for and coordinated before it is actually needed. Click here
Local CBNRE Planning for the retreat
December 20, 2010 - "Local CBNRE Planning for the retreat" By Joseph Parish. In our previous article we discussed CBNRE as it related to Chemical threats. In our discussion today I would like to relate some further information on how to develop a plan of action for local incidents. Now that you have some idea as to what a CRBNE incident is you can plan accordingly for such events. Click here
A CBRNE Incident involving Chemical Hazards
December 20, 2010 - "A CBRNE Incident involving Chemical Hazards" By Joseph Parish. Recently during one of my emergency management classes at the university a peer of mine submitted a final project on the topic of CBRNE recovery operations. As I reviewed his manuscript I thought that would be an excellent subject to discuss with my fellow survivalists. Click here

None dare call it looting
December 19, 2010 - "None dare call it looting" By Joseph Parish. It doesn’t take very long after a disaster occurs before the various crimes start to happen. In no time at all we see ruthless events taking place that show total disregard for other individuals. Stores are looted and robbed within 24 hours of the emergency condition beginning. My question to this is whether it is looting or a case of scavenging. Click here
Recycling number ten cans
December 19, 2010 - "Recycling number ten cans" By Joseph Parish. Any time you have survivalists you also have those large number 10 cans that are used to store their dehydrated foods in. It is only good sense to use what you store and store what you eat. With that thought in mind your food storage should be properly rotated. When new cans of food are introduced to your pantry the older ones should be used up first. Click here
Fabulous Survival Strawberry Jam
December 19, 2010 - "Fabulous Survival Strawberry Jam" By Joseph Parish. While sitting recently in the local diner with coffee cup in hand and a good friend nearby for conversation, we chanced upon the topic of freezer jams. We could both recall years back when either friends or family members would create some on the spur of the moment and surprise all those present. Click here
