Where the end of friendship begins
June 2, 2010 - "Where the end of friendship begins" By Joseph Parish. During times of crisis friendships often become strained and stressed out. It doesn’t matter how close of ties that may have previously existed it becomes a time of uncertainty and suspicion. Click hereTuesday, June 1, 2010
Ammunition inventory
June 1, 2010 - "Ammunition inventory" By Joseph Parish. Have you ever considered inventorying your supply of ammunition? You may wish to give that idea a slight bit of consideration. If you are like me you purchase ammo on a regular basis and over a period of time can easily forget what you have for emergencies supplies. Click hereMonday, May 31, 2010
Should you invest in a Scanner?
May 31, 2010 - "Should you invest in a Scanner?" By Joseph Parish. I have several friends who seem to be addicted to eavesdropping upon the goings on of the various police and fire activities carried out over the small handheld scanners. Unlike the earlier versions of these scanners from years back they are all self-contained and no specific crystal selection is necessary. I personally have one of these small units and they are great to use. All you need to do is basically select a specific band and you are set to go. Click hereSunday, May 30, 2010

May 30, 2010 - "Do Your Hurricane Preps Now" By Joseph Parish. There are detailed items that are indispensable in any hurricane kit and there are the optional bits and pieces that are nice to have. Let’s first talk about the necessities that should be included in such a kit. Click hereMistakes in Food Storage
May 30, 2010 - "Mistakes in Food Storage" By Joseph Parish. During a recent move I quickly discovered that my food storage solutions were a somewhat dismal failure and required a bit of modification. Previously, I would stock up on foods that were inexpensive and provided the proper nourishment during emergency conditions. Little consideration was extended to whether my family or I usually ate the product or not. Click here.Thursday, May 27, 2010
Oldest Medal of honor recipient dies
Retired Navy Lt. John Finn, the oldest Medal of Honor recipient from World War II, died Thursday at his southern California ranch. He was 100. It seems appropriate that if Lt. Finn's time was up that it happen on the eve of Memorial Day. Thanks John and God Bless. You may be gone but you will always be remembered.

We're taking our country back one step at a time
This is how it goes in 2010 at the ballot box: old orders are upended, political lions become roadkill, chosen successors get left behind and the outsider, riding a wave of discontent, becomes the new front-runner.http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20100519/us_time/08599199018500

Open letter to Obama
Dear President Obama,
I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me. We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. Into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements. We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.
4. I want my grandchildren to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my grandchildren to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my grandchildren at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico, but, I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. Flag from my house top, put U S. Flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.
16. I'll need Income tax credits so that although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car.
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
Thank you so much for your kind help. You're the man!!!

Octopus and Green Bean Soup
April 30, 2010 - "Octopus and Green Bean Soup" By Joseph Parish. As a survivalist I am always on the lookout for new and interesting recipes, in fact I spend a considerable number of hours experimenting in the kitchen. Usually I try to create recipes that can be used in a bug out or emergency survival situation. My recent conception consists of Octopus and Green Beans. Click here Tuesday, April 20, 2010
