Horse Power as Transportation

May 28, 2009 - "Horse Power as Transportation" By Joseph Parish. Transportation is important in any survival plans. There may come a time when leaving your immediate area could be the difference between living and dying. Possibly your BOV just will not do the trick. Perhaps the roads are out due to adverse weather or the number of people who have the same idea has impacted your ability to depart on public highways. In either case it is important to have alternate plans to leave the area and get to your established retreat. Click here

Martial Arts Are About Survival

May 24, 2009 - "Martial Arts Are About Survival " By Kevin Brett . Here’s a shocker for you … martial arts are about survival. Yep, that’s right. The purpose of martial arts is to have the skill and knowledge to be able to do in the bad guy and still make it home in time to walk the dog. Martial arts are not some trendy type of workout designed to impress the ladies as you tell them about the tournaments or trophies you’ve won. While it certainly is an awesome total-body workout and a great way to get in shape many students really give little thought to its ultimate purpose; survival. Click here

Apocalypse Type Survival Plans

May 21, 2009 - "Apocalypse Type Survival Plans" By Joseph Parish. You can easily find that some survivalist have no sort of survival plan what so ever. I recently spoke with several that are in this frame of mind. They readily state that there are several reasons behind their mad thinking but the most predominant is that they claim to be one of those people who would least likely be able to survive in any sort of apocalyptic crisis. You got it right Mr. Stephen King

May 18, 2009 - You got it right Mr. Stephen King!" By Joseph Parish. I am confident that there is just about no one in the western world who has not heard of Stephen King. Being an avid collector of Stephen King’s books I have managed to amass every first edition that was published including several with both a European and American version. I have always considered “The Stand” to be Mr. King’s best work so far. He stylishly managed to merge the unexpected and unusual with a genuine possibility for a climatic episode. It so happens that perchance Stephen was foreseeing in his imagination of this novel for it is highly possible that we are presently in the same state of affairs as the characters portrayed within his book. Here is a fictional piece that I recently wrote. It should be taken with a grain of salt. Click here

The ultimate Fire Safety Device

May 16, 2009 - "The ultimate fire safety device" By Joseph Parish. When evaluating the likelihood of installing fire escape ladders you are presented with two viable choices. You can install permanent fire escape steps to the outside of your home which has certain disadvantages. I would caution you greatly on this decision. Permanent steps are a sure invitation for burglars and others who may mean to harm you. In addition the initial cost is considerably more then using the portable rope ladder. The rope version is probably your best bet but you will have to instruct those who will use it in its proper operation. Click here

Survivalists and Fear

May 14, 2009 - "Survivalists and Fear" By Joseph Parish. Nearly everyone at sometime or other has experienced the sensation of fear. Fear is normal for any living thing to experience and acts as a danger threshold for our body. Human bodies are frail and often times the owners of those bodies fail to comprehend the limits that Mother Nature has imposed upon us but fear tends to balance this out and warn us of impending perils. This famished swarm of gluttonous vegetarians devastated a significant amount of vegetation leaving little in their wake for human consumption. The locust was promptly approved for human applications and several recipe books were composed instructing the public on how to prepare these creatures for the dinner table. Click here

Survivalists 6th Sense

May 11, 2009 - "Survivalists 6th sense" By Joseph Parish. Our ancestors survived violent times by using their intuition and what many of them classified as “gut feelings”. Regrettably over the years we have been taught to reason in a rational and systematic manner and to suppress any initiate feelings that may surface. These same feelings that we restrain could possibly save our lives in an emergency. Click here
